this is were the wurtsboro leadmine is the ow port jervis spur ran past the bottom next to the canal and the mainline run just above it it ran from the 1700's and closed around 1913 they were also looking for gold but only found trace amounts there is a upper part farther up on the hill
congrats to ridgerunnerjohn for first to find and finding it in the snow also if you approach from the upper railbed it is not in the restricted dec area at the lower mine
