Geocache Description:

A small camouflaged screwtop cache located near the church where my paternal family are buried

Henstead is a small village near Beccles, 3 miles from the sea. It's population is around 400 people. The church has an embattled tower and one of the finest Norman porches in the area, it is away from the current village as the original village & church were destroyed by fire. My grandfather was a churchwarden & pumped the organ. My grandmother trimmed the altar candles & arranged flowers. My brother, father, mother, grandfather & family and great grandparents are all buried in the churchyard to the right of the war memorial when facing the church - look for LONG. There is also a relation on the war memorial who was my Grandad's cousin & was a deckhand on a paddle minesweeper! He is also on the memorial at Chatham. To access the cache take the track to the right before the church on the Hulver Road, or from Henstead turn left at the crossroads towards Wrentham and take the track almost immediately to your right. This may be muddy after heavy rain! Wheelchair users will need help to retrieve the cache. Congratulations to Blue Square Thing on FTF!
