In 1827 sheep began to be farmed on Woolnorth, with just under 1000 herded from Stanley. The road past the gates allows restricted tourist access to the historic Woolnorth property and now also the wind farm. The station was bought in 1993 by a New Zealand’s company that operated dairy farms, farming focus became dairying, and has continued since. Woolnorth’s dairy operation covers almost 4300ha and has approx 11,000 milking cows
Room to park here at the gates, plenty of places for a cache to be hidden and while searching admire the work that has gone into construction of the gates.
