The loggers' axes missed some Door County trees. This spectacular and often overlooked ancient Cottonwood tree is one of them.
It's easy to park across the street from the cache, in the church parking lot, but please watch for the occasional tourist who may be zooming by. The tree itself is easy to miss, seemingly "hidden in plain view" next to a legendary saloon. This cottonwood tree has the most spectacular bark of any tree I've ever touched.
The cache is a magnetized key case.
