THE BIRTH OF AN EMPIRE
The Land of Bassoville
Many years ago--long before Grizzly Island, this area was all owned by Basso the First. The photo you see here is an actual photo of the great Basso empire. The management lived in the "Basso Tower."
My great-great-great-grandpa was a pretty vain man, and he managed to get the whole county named after him. Thus, for many years, the entire county you see here was officially called "Bassoville County."
But my great grandpa was not satisfied with just having a county named after him. He wanted an entire nation! Thus was formed the "Commonwealth of Bassoville." Basso the First had actually wanted Bassoville to be a monarchy, but he had to settle for a republic. The president is elected by an electoral college, but there was just one elector--him! This way, he won just about every election. Election nights were pretty boring.
Anyway, the family fortune was built in the Trolley Car Business. This entire area was filled with Basso Trolley Cars! When I was a lad, I used to steal one of the trolleys and "joy-trolley" across our empire. One day, I put a small token in a hidden place. But now, I can't remember where I put it! Can you help me out?
