THT's 50th Geocache!
Lovingly placed by the Tropical Heritage Team
As a relatively older Millennial, I spent most of my elementary years without computers or video games. Yes, there was Oregon Trail, but, since I always seemed to die of dysentery, I mostly hunted for food. And there was T.V. – I usually watched Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street. But none of these media could compare to the glorious fun of when the Highlights magazine came in every month.
There were the usual favorites; “Goofus and Gallant,” “What’s Wrong?,” and “The Timbertoes.” I liked the puzzles – in particular “Check... and Double Check.” The goal of “Check... and Double Check” was to examine two almost identical drawings and spot the differences. There was sometimes a clock that was set to a different time, a chair leg would be missing, or a pencil that magically disappeared from a desk. Usually, I’d fly through every difference but one, and end up spending a considerable time staring, turning the page, and getting frustrated before spotting the final difference.

An homage to this wonderful pastime is due for our 50th cache placement. We at THT think that Geocaching should be “Fun with a Purpose,” although we’ll leave defining that purpose up to you!
This cache has been placed with Johnny, the shop owner’s, permission. The folks inside are aware of what you’re doing, but will not provide hints. Please thank them for being a part of the Geocaching community!
Happy hunting,
