Mt.Kasa-yama is a beautiful mountain of Hiki and we can see the unusual figure of the mountain like a bamboo hat from anywhere of a wide range of Musashino. There are 13 mountains named Mt.Kasa-yama in Japan, but this Mt. Kasa-yama is called with another name Mt.Chibusa (Breast)-yama, and has the beautiful shape such as a firm breast of a young girl. Mt.Kasa-yama has twin peaks and the Kasa-yama shrine is constructed on the east peak. There is a stone stairway of Omotesando going down the steep slope from the front of the shrine, but considerably goes to ruin now. The east peak is the highest summit (837m) of Mt. Kasa-yama, but trees grow thick and the prospects are not so good. On the other hand, the west peak has a small level ground and a large prospects open. In addition, the mountaintop mark of 837m is built on the west peak for some reason.
笠を伏せたような特徴のある山容の笠山は、広範な武蔵野のどこからでもよく見える比企の名峰です。
笠山は全国に13座ありますが、この笠山は別名 乳房山とも乳首山とも言い、山頂部がポコッと膨れており、乙女の張りのある乳房の様な美しい形をしています。
また、笠山は、その美しい姿から神の宿る山として尊ばれ、双耳峰となっている東峰には笠山神社が鎮座しています。 社殿正面からは急斜面を下る表参道の石段がありますが、今はかなり荒廃しています。
笠山の最高地点（837m）は、笠山神社の社殿の建つ東峰ですが、樹木が茂り展望はあまり良くありません。
一方、西峰は小平地になっており、北西方面にかけて大展望が開け、遠く上越国境、日光連山まで見通すことができます。また、何故か837mの山頂標識は西峰に建っています。
