While wandering down the King William's Road, a noble knight finds himself lost in an open field. The starry sky above would help the Knight find their way home...had he only ever joined the boy scouts! Without this valuable information he begins to wonder whether he can hope to reach his goal: the palace of their beautiful princess.
He stares out at the sky, facing in the direction of the King's road, wondering how to return to it.
"Lost, friend?" comes a voice from behind: a stranger in dark robes (the sort that suspicious high priests trying to be in mufti wear when they go on a TV series).
"Who are you?" asks the traveler.
"Bruce"
"Oh"
"What?"
"You just don't strike me as a Bruce. I thought men dressed like this had exotic names that weren't intended to be pronounced. Bruce is....a name."
The stranger, slightly annoyed at this stage replied, "Do you want your princess or not. Personally I don't care but this story gets even lamer if I meet you here and we chat then I go, and nothing happens. So can you just pretend that you're impressed."
The Knight let out a profound "Oooo" which satisfied the stranger's requirements.
"Thank you."
"No problem."
The stranger looked up and breathed in, partly from relief, but partly from exasperation. Then he bowed profoundly and looked at the Knight. He pointed to the tree just to the left of the Knight. "Look through that tree."
"Why?"
"It will tell you where to go."
"Why don't you just tell me?"
"Doesn't work that way."
"Oh. This is an efficient method"
The stranger gave one final point to the tree and instructed, "Look, just put your head through the fork of the tree and shine your tor....flame of light through it."
"What am I looking for?"
The stranger breathed deeply and groaned. In a deep and ominous voice he declared:
"THE SIGN THAT IS LEFT"
With that the Knight was alone. Reluctantly, he cast his light through the gap, sure that he's being talking to himself the whole time anyway. Only half interested, he spots something to his left. "Aha!"
Behind the symbol lay a strange image. Upon deciphering it, the Knight bolted away in the direction the arrow pointed.
The mission had begun!
