MagicMason1000: Sad to see this one go. This was one of our earliest caches, at over seven years old! Living 7 hours away means we can't easily replace this one, but we had a good run. Hopefully this will now open up a spot for someone who lives closer to the park.

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed here in honor of the 3.5 hours I spent recovering my phone after it fell into a crack between two rocks.  My GPS was spotty in this area, but if you are on top of the hill...there is parking on both sides of the road and the most amazing views in each direction.

The Story

As I ventured into the State Park, I found this beautiful look-out point. As I attempted to take a selfie from the top of the rocks, I dropped my phone and it fell into a crack, about 2 feet down. With the help of other visitors, plus various tools found in my trunk, I extracted the phone, but it took me 3 and a half hours. Needless to say, I didn't get to venture much further into the park that day. This was one of the most breathtaking spots in the State Park so I decided to place a geocache here to make people stop and view it. Just be mindful of the cracks and keep a tight hold on your phone! This geocache has been approved by the State Park Rangers.
