Drive 3 miles down 1280 and visit (or ease on through) a sleepy little place called Friday, named after my grandfather's family and home to two small churches (Friday Baptist and Zion Hill).
Drive 13 miles down 1280 and you'll find Lovelady. Stop for pizza, or for gas and necessities.
Or if you're on 287, you're 10 minutes from Groveton going one way and 20 from Crockett going the other . . .
