Station to Station was the tenth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released by RCA Records in 1976. Commonly regarded as one of his most significant works, Station to Station was the vehicle for his last distinct performance persona, the Thin White Duke. The album was recorded after he completed shooting Nicolas Roeg's The Man Who Fell to Earth, and the cover artwork featured a still from the movie. Station to Station was released in January 1976 and reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top LPs & Tape, remaining on the chart for 32 weeks. It became Bowie's highest-charting album in the US, until 2013's The Next Day. Station to Station was certified gold by the RIAA on 26 February 1976. In the UK, it charted for seventeen weeks, peaking at No. 5, serving as the last time one of Bowie's studio albums charted lower in his home country than in America. The title track begins with a train engine coming up to speed, appropriate to the theme of this location.

A bit of Boise Depot trivia: my mother-in-law's father's maternal uncle Archibald Ferguson was a stonemason from Scotland (my kids' great-great uncle). He was the mason responsible for the stone work of the waterfalls in the terrace below. Thanks to him, this is a scenic and very kid-friendly spot.
First-To-Find prize is a collectible American coin rarer than our usual leave, a 1925 Denver Buffalo nickel from the year Boise Depot was built! This coin design has been acclaimed for many years for its unique American motif and artistry. The sculptor of this coin design had various models: from the Cheyenne, the Sioux, and also possibly the Iroquois and the Blackfoot Indian tribes. The buffalo model was “Black Diamond,” a resident in the New York Zoological Gardens. Congratulations to dizziellama for FTF'ing this, well done!
