To find the final cache coordinates, go to the front right window of the the store. Look for the words: "America's ___ most..." Add those two numbers to 26 to get AB in the coordinates below:

N 32 13.AB3 W 110 56.031

Sidney Hirsh's mother, Rose Hirsh, opened the store in April, 1954. After selling shoes for nearly 60 years, he is now 85 and ready to retire. The store closed in April of 2016, on its 62nd anniversary.

Originally the store sold children's shoes. Over the years Hirsh created a niche in order to keep the business alive by specializing in dance shoes and custom made shoes. Sidney started selling shoes at the store when he got out of the Army and had to make a living for his wife and child. At one time there were five Hirsh's shoes in Tucson, but they closed one by one until in 1996 only the store on Broadway remained.

Thanks to cwgrizz for this log: "Just to add to the history, I had first hand experience with the store that was downtown. As a child, my mother was told that I needed corrective shoes for some reason or another. The place to get them was at Hirsh's Shoes. They also had some sort of an xray machine in the store so that when you tried on shoes they could see where your toes were in relation to the shoes for a good fit. It had two places to look into. One for the shoe wearer and one for the store personnel. As a kid I thought it was neat to see the outline of my toes inside the outline of the shoes."

This location now houses the Tucson Historic Preservation, a fitting place for them.
