There are two options listed for parking to get to this magnetic key box along the NCT. You will have to go over a "river" and through the woods to get to this cache from either parking area. Wear orange as this area is used for hunting in season. Please be respectful of the landowners that have allowed the NCT to go through their property.
Many people do not know that Over the River and Through the Woods is actually a Thanksgiving song. It was wrote by Lydia Marie Child in 1844. There are twelve verses to the poem but most people only know three. It is often thought to be a Christmas song because the last line of the poem, "Hurray for Thanksgiving Day" gets changed to "Christmas Day".
Over the river, and through the wood,
to Grandfather's house we go;
the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood
oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose,
as over the ground we go.
Over the river, and through the wood,
trot fast my dapple gray
Spring over the ground like a hunting-hound
Hurray for Thanksgiving Day.
