However, at one recent gathering, my appreciation turned to horror when I realized that everyone there wore a nametag, but the names on the tags didn’t match my recollection of any of their geo-names. I approached a cacher I knew and admired and asked her why she was wearing the nametag USABLY. She smirked at me and simply said “C’mon – you can figure that out.”
Nope – I couldn’t. Nor could I make any sense that night of HEPTARCHY, HARMLESS, GUTSIER, NAKEDLY, HEARTFELT, REFORGE, CHARCOAL, HITHERWARD, UNPLEASING, SWEETBRIER, NAGGIER or STONEABLE.
It wasn’t until several days later, as I struggled with yet another buddysally puzzle, that the light bulb lit. So that’s how they came up with those names. Hmmmm …. why not turn this process into a puzzle cache.
And I did.
Simply determine the caching names of the 13 Canada’s Capital Cachers* who wore each of the nametags listed above. String them out in the order they’re listed and determine the digital roots (sum and re-sum until you get a single digit) of the alpha-numeric values (A=1, B=2, etc.) of the 7th, 58th, 75th, 79th, 88th, 100th, 113th and 150th letters to obtain the last four digits of the N and W coordinates of this cache.
