The Curious George Cottage, owned by the Town of Waterville Valley, was once the summer home of Hans and Margret Rey, the illustrator and authors of the Curious George children's book series. Now it is home to The Rey Center, a non-profit organization that promotes the Rey's legacy of love of art, nature, the environment, science, astronomy, and gardening, encouraging curiousity and continuous learning in children and adults.
