Geocache Description:

Our first hide, we hope you enjoy it.

NicLiv was inspired by a cache found in the North Island, so, we had to create this for the Wanaka community and their library.

The library in Wanaka plays an important role in the community.  Apart from the usual things you'd expect from a library, it also serves the community in many other ways.  From reading sessions for the littlies and school holiday programmes, it is also a meeting place for any home schooled children in the area. The local geneaology and historical records groups meet here and the library holds local resources recording the Maori and European history of the area. The library is also a great place to download e-books and e-audio books if you prefer to keep things digital.  The library is also the district repository for national electoral rolls.

The current library was built in 2003, replacing the old one which used to be at the current Queenstown Lakes District Council offices in Ardmore Street.  The cache has been placed with the permission of the local council.  All of the Librarians know about it but they won't help you find it.

The cache can only be found during library open hours.  The library is closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.

Please take extreme care when searching for the cache as this is an extremely high muggle zone.

Where the cache is hidden, today you might expect this ‘game’ to be included. When left it contains a logbook and pencil, a FTF geocoin and a swap. Small swaps only possible in this cache.
