Rest 'n Peace CC #35 - Lick Run Presbyterian
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The 35th installment in the Rest in Peace - Centre County series takes you to the Lick Run Presbyterian cemetery in Marion Township. The burials here range from 1803 to 1989, and include a gentleman that served not only in the Revolutionary war, but the French and Indian war as well!

Tucked away off the main road and surrounded by an ancient, crumbling stone wall, this cemetery may be missed by casual passersby. The grounds themselves are still well maintained, although the vast majority of the burials were in the mid to late 1800's and many of the stones are eroding into illegibility. A slight few, like the wall mounted marker below, are of granite and not the typical marble, and with care should last for another 200 years or more.
To get to the cache, you'll need to walk to the far inside corner farthest from the entrance. As you do so, take a moment to say hello to the many early pioneers of Centre County, and mayhaps say their names aloud. It maybe the first time anyone has done so in decades.
Parking is available immediately in front of the resting place along the street. PLEASE tuck some branches back over the cache when rehiding to keep it somewhat inconspicuous.

As with any cemetery cache, please be respectful of those who are interred here.
