Geocache Description:


Herons Creek has a population 312 and is 30ks SW of Port Macquarie. Herons Creek is a village with an incredible history, from its settlement in 1875 it was one of NSW original timber districts. New Heritage and Tourist Trails exist to trace the history of the area. Stories are told on interpretive panels located along the trails. This panel tells the story of Mark Anthony Luhrman who lived for 10 years in the area when the family ran the local service station. Baz attended Saint Josephs Regional School from 1975-1978. He is best know as a film director, his most notable are Australia, Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom. This cache container holds a logbook, BYO pencil.
