“The Holly and the Ivy” is an old English Christmas song I learned in elementary school music class. It’s amazing how long the words and melodies we learn as children remain in our memory. This song also taught me how to pronounce the word “THE” correctly: when preceding a word starting with a consonant it rhymes with “duh” but when preceding a word beginning with a vowel it rhymes with “tea.” Thus the name of this cache is pronounced “thuh holl-ee and thee i-vee”.
The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all the trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown.
Cache is hidden in Keyser Park. The only ivy you are likely to find in this park is poison ivy, so stay away from it and search for holly instead.
