On the inside lid and logbook, look for a letter and number to plug into a formula for a puzzle cache.
The Sedge Wren (Cistothorus platensis) is a small, secretive wren that breeds in dense tall sedges and grasses in wet meadows, hayfields, and marshes, and avoids cattails. The Sedge Wren is one of the most nomadic territorial birds in North America. On a given area, it may be present in numbers in one year, and be completely absent the next. The nest is a round ball of grasses and sedges, with entrance on side, usually placed in a shrub. They run on the ground to avoid predators, and usually flies only a short distance before diving back into grass. In the spring and summer, you may hear them singing here. Listen for sharp chips followed by rapid chatter.
The container is a peanut butter jar containing a log book and swag. You will need to bring your own writing instrument. There is plenty of parking on the wide road shoulder. Remember to get the code off the lid or logbook for the puzzle final.
