Welcome to Rogers Reservoir. This may be a simple p&g cache but its intent is to bring you to see the results of the construstion project and 2 year road closure. It is indeed impressive. There were four major improvements: road widening and realignment along with new bridges over the Holland River and Go Transit train tracks; installation of water and sewer infrastructure to serve growth in East Gwillimbury; the construction of a pumping station for the York/Durham Sewage system;improvements to the safety and structure of the Nokiidaa trail. These projects were integrated so as to limit future disruptions.
Please take a walk around GZ observing the massive scale of the $94 million project. Note not only the infrastructure, but also the bike lanes, lighting, elimination of the rail crossing (therefore one less train whistle), trail boardwalk and pedestrian bridge and lookout spots on bridge.
At the time of posting, it is still a construction zone with lots of activity even though the road is open and busy. Please take care. You should have no difficulty finding a spot nearby to park The cache is small with only room for a log. please bring own writing utensil.
