During this Event we will be looking at setting up the GSAK program and:
1. Downloading information into the database.
2. organize the information to get the results we want.
3. Creating a file to upload into the GPS.
4. Creating Pocket Queries through Geocaching.com
This Event will be held from 1:00 to 4:00pm
At Harlingen Arts & Heritage Museum, 2425 Boxwood St., Harlingen, TX.
The Museum is open from 1-4 pm. There is no entry fee to the museum. If you arrive early, you may have to wait until they open. I will require a little set-up time before the training gets started.
Bring your computer for hands-on experience. GSAK works with Windows, but does not work on Mac operated systems unless you have the Windows simulator installed. I will have some memory cards available with GSAK preloaded, along with other files to use with GSAK.
Bring your HOME coordinates or coordinates for whatever search point you use.
Bring your own drinks and snacks. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Bottled water and other soft drinks are available for sale.
There is a rental fee for the meeting room. I will place a container for donations to help cover the rental cost.
