This cache will bring you to the famous "Scoglio della Ballerina" on the Livorno coast and more precisely near to the "Ridente Antignano". The cache is dedicated to all sea lovers that don't lose any opportunity to go to the beach, even if it's December!

The story tells that a woman waited the return of her man from the sea. A boundless, unconditional love ... like many fishermen's wives, she was used to spend her days to wait for that boat and his love, until one day he never came back, swallowed with the other saylormen from a crazy sea.

She could not accept that loss, she had expected a life and now it was gone. So he decided that if the sea had taken him, only the sea could also take her, and maybe would have stayed there last forever together. Hence, one day of those who well know, when the Libeccio transforms these shores delighted in Dante's inferno, she climbed the cliff and fell back into the waves. No one saw her ever again nor was ever found the body.

They say only that she used to dance when he was at sea ... she was a good dancer and melancholic, exorcised the absence of her man with her body, dancing like waves between the notes. So a painter who knew the story began to paint a libecciata on that rock, and on top of it put the ballerina on pointe, in the process of letting go. He called the picture "The rock dancer" ... and from that moment for all the people from Livorno the name remained that one.
