Geocache Description:

An easy find in a cemetery with an identity crisis.

We were surprised to find that there's no cache in this cemetery – whatever it's called. Maybe there was one in the past that got archived. Or maybe the caretakers are particularly opposed to geocaches, watch for them and remove them. Whatever the case, we're giving it a try.

The sign at the main entrance calls this place Azle Cemetery, but maps and the historical marker call it Ash Creek Cemetery. You'll find a memorial to Dr. James Azle Steward, for whom the town is named, in this cemetery. And if you've passed this way before, you'll see that a barn-like tabernacle near the entrance has been removed recently. We're not sure if what's there now is complete or not. Maybe that will be clearer when you get there.

(updated June 16, 2017) As for the cache, you won't see it but it's hiding in there somewhere.

Congrats to Tammy&Sammy for being first to find this cache -- and some of our others. It's good to know TXStrawberryCreek wasn't far behind.
