A lot of people have said to me that they don't try to solve puzzle caches because they have no idea of where to start. So I thought when better than Puzzle Day to hold an event where I hope to go through some of the basics of how to get started.
The event will take place in the Audio Visual Suite of the Marine Operations Centre at the Harbour where I've previously held the Geocaching International Film Festivals (GIFF events). I aim to present some hints and tips on the screen, go through some puzzle caches helping you get started on them and have a question and answer session.
The focus will be on making it a relaxed fun day where you can ask questions and find out how to puzzle cache. If you want to bring refreshments you may (no alcohol though) there are tea and coffee making facilities but otherwise I'm not planning on providing refreshments.
There will also be plenty of opportunites to chat and socialise with other cachers, swap TBs etc even if puzzle solving isn't your thing.
I've scheduled the event from 2pm to about 4pm although I'll play it by ear as to when folks want to wrap up. As with the GIFF events attendees should aim to be there for 2pm as there won't be anyone on the door to let you in after we go up to the AV suite. Please don't use the intercom system to ask to be let in after this time as that will only distrub the Operations staff on duty and use of the building is granted on the provision that distruption to staff is avoided.
Parking is indicated on the map if anyone needs disabled parking please let me know in advance.
So bring your questions and prepare to turn those blue ?s into smiley faces.
