Independence square is located on the waterfront in the heart of the capital city and is a lovely spot to relax and take in the sights and sounds.
Following the establishment of the first English settlement at Holetown in 1627, Barbados remained a British Colony for more than 300 years, until achieving Independence on November 30th 1966.
November 30th is celebrated as Independence Day and is a national holiday in Barbados. This cache has been placed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of independence.
