Geocache Description:

Glenmore Cemetery

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates.

Early Methodist services in Glenmore began in 1856 at the nearby home of Robert Moore

The small neat sandstone church  was built during the ministry of Reverend William Clarke, on half an acre of land donated by Joseph Moore, brother of Robert Moore.

Erected by James Rogers of Picton, the building was opened for worship in 1860.

The church has undergone  a number of interior changes but its  stone walls remain solid and untouched. Great care has been taken to keep the building and its surrounds in an excellent state of repair.

Around 1977 the  Methodist Church combined with the Presbyterian Church to form the Uniting Church.

Most of the earlier graves in the cemetery are from the Moore family,  however over the years more and more of the folk between The Oaks and Camden have chosen this cemetery as their final resting place.

In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s the Camden Bike Club had a track on the western side of the cemetery. It operated for a short time for local motor bike and go carts.

The original Burragorang Road used to pass by on the top side, however a diversion was made in the 1990’s allowing the grounds  to become a more tranquil site.

From the starting point obtain the following

S 34° A-1. (B-2)C     E 150° D+1. (E*4)+4.

Where:

A= The number of Children of Dr Gordon Clowes

B= The number of Grandchildren of Dr Clowes

C=The difference in their individual ages at death (number of years) between Frank Edward Lavercombe and his brother

Hugh Frederick Lavercombe. Work out individually and deduct one from the other

D= The sum total of each number of the pastors mobile phone number on the entrance sign.

E=The sum total of each number of the cemetery enquiries phone number on the entrance sign.

A relatively easy multi cache with a lunchbox size cache at the end. Room for swaps .

Congrats on FTF to Jkcourtz.
