Geocache Description:

This cache, my first, is placed at a memorial I drive by often, but up until recently I'd never stopped and investigated why it was there.

Nearby to GZ you will find the Highlands Pioneer Memorial. This memorial commemorates the first six settlers in the Highlands Caveat area. Each original settler has a granite pillar dedicated to them, with one of the pillars adorned by a plaque. The memorial was placed in conjunction with the celebration of the district centenary in 1982.

The cache is a 1L sistema container with room for swaps. It is located near a road, so please take all necessary care when travelling to GZ. The road is not usually busy, however stealth may be required at some times. The cache contains a pencil, but it is always best to BYOP just in case.
