Bavigne was the command post of the 26th Infantry Division from January 20 to 22, 1945.
In December and January, Bavigne had been the CP of various elements of the 26th Infantry Division with kitchen and supply room.
The GIs were sent back from the Mon Schumann combat zone to shave, wash, get clean clothes, a hot meal and a night's sleep in a building.
