Wanted #1: Sparrowpit Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Paperballpark: This has been replaced at least twice now, so for it to go missing a third time makes me think it's being deliberately taken. There's nowhere to really move it to, so I'm sadly archiving it. Thanks to everyone who found it.

Geocache Description:

The Wanted series takes you on a scenic walk through this part of the Peak District. There are a variety of different hides and containers, although none are too difficult to find. Please be careful with the containers when handling them, so that you don't break them, and please re-hide them carefully so that they're not discovered.

The cache

To get you started, this cache is an easy one - a clip-lock box. Please try not to draw attention to yourself when looking for it.

About the series

This is a series of 27 caches, set on a walk of approx 3.5 - 4 miles. It starts in Sparrowpit, taking you along a public footpath to Rushup Edge, then back to a road and down to Bagshaw, from where there is a steady climb back to Sparrowpit.

The series is set as a fairly easy walk, with the first half along public footpaths, and the second half along minor back roads. Please be careful along the roads, because although they are quite quiet, they are used, and they are narrow in places.

None of the caches are hidden in dry stone walls, so please do not look in them.

There are good views from various points along the walk, and on a clear day you can see for a few miles. Photos taken along the way are always appreciated, but please do not post photos of any of the more unusual caches. Any photos showing these containers will be deleted, as I don't want to spoilt it for others who come afterwards.

Please bring your own pen or pencil, because there aren't any in the caches, and you do need to sign the logs to claim the finds. Additionally, some of the caches may require tweezers. Parking co-ordinates are shown as waypoints.
