Geocache Description:

A short and simple multi-cache at an out of the way church.

There is no need to enter the churchyard at all to complete the cache here and there is no direct access to the final location from the churchyard.

Sudbourne All Saints is one of those East Anglian churches that seem to be in the middle of nowhere but that rise from the farmland and dominate the surrounding area. It's not in the village, but away to the south-east, just off the main road to Orford.

There's a blocked Norman doorway and the building dates from the 14th century, but the majority of the church was rebuilt in the Victorian period, paid for by the owners of Sudbourne Hall, the gatehouse of which is at the road junction to the west. The park was used for tank training during World War II and the hall was at least partly demolished in the 1950s.

The church is on the edge of a series of Forestry Commission plantations on the Sandlings, an area which used to include much heathland. It is, apparently, usually unlocked. More information can be found in the usual places on the internet.

The coordinates:
To complete this cache you'll need to gather some simple information from three spots and substitute the numbers into the coordinates below:

N 52 06.ABC E 001 3D.EFG

All of the clues can be found in the area immediately around the church. There is no need to actually enter the churchyard unless you choose to.

The Gate: attached to the gate of the churchyard is a sign with four words on it.
B is the number of letters in the last word on the sign
E is the number of times the word "the" appears on the sign
G is the total number of letters that appear on the sign divided by 2 (halved)

The Bench: towards the north-west corner of the churchyard is a bench. A plaque is attached to it - this can be read by leaning over the wall of the churchyard and is the bench closest to the corner of the churchyard. The gravestone of the person the plaque is dedicated to can be seen from the bench.
A is the number of vowels (a, e, i, o or u) that appear on the plaque on the bench
C is the number of words in the top line of text on the dedication plaque

The Forest Sign: near the church and at the entrance to the forest is one of the Forestry Commission ride number signs. It is white with two red digits on it.
D is the first digit on the sign
F is the sum of the two digits, taking just the units and ignoring any tens

Now simply substitute the values you have to find the final coordinates. You shouldn't have far to walk - note that the cache is not inside the churchyard.

The Cache:
You're looking for a small lock and lock container hidden outside the churchyard.
