We all do it. We drive by places, thinking "This could be a good spot." Maybe we investigate the map a little, or look for a particularly good spot. Not this time. We were out looking for caches, not places to hide them when we came upon this.
One of the things I love about this hobby of ours is that it gets my kids outside - wandering trails, maybe creating them, climbing trees, looking at nature a little differently. And that means stuff like this happens. We were driving and I simply needed a place to pull over when the 8 yo asked me to pull over "THERE." Because it was a spot needing investigating. She jumped right out of the car and her older sister was right behind her. The next thing I know, they are hollering because they know I have empty caches waiting to be hidden sitting in my purse.
So what's a mom to do? We come up with a quick name, I toss them the cache and pull out the GPS to get the coordinates.
I love caching with my kids like this. Hope you enjoy your search as well. The 12 yo old made sure our bison tube was tucked away well enough to make it not an easy spot, but not impossible either. BYOP and good luck!
