Geocache Description:

Blanket Flat was once a thriving goldrush town which once rivalled Daylesford as the richest gold fields in the region. But today scarcely any of this histroy remains. This little cemetry tucked away from the highway is one of the last reminders of those days.

While John Egan provided a burial site for the Catholics down by the highway, the final resting place for the regions other denominations was up here at the Blanket flat cemetery or as it later became known as the Eganstown General Cemetery.

Some of the charm of this little cemetery is missing due to the resent removal of the pines at the front, however there are some interesting insights to what was here, still scattered around if you chose to spend some time exploring.

The cache is not within the cemetery itself and is a sistema hidden in a fairly regular manner.
