Trailhead Meet-up
The purpose of this event is to introduce people to the great trail system here in Nine Mile River. We will meet near the trailhead for some donuts and refreshments. The event will be held outdoors, please check the weather before you come and dress appropriately.
Post-Event Snowshoe
After the event completes, a snowshoe hike of the trails will occur. You will need to bring your own snowshoes, if you do not have snowshoes, many municipalities offer snowshoe rentals for little to no cost.
If you plan to snowshoe after the event, please come equipped with plenty of water, snacks, and other equipment (i.e. hat, hiking poles, pack, etc.). There will most likely be a range of fitness levels show up for the snowshoe. The emphasis is on being social, do not worry being left behind.
The planned route is to complete the 'Hemlock Cathedral Trail'. With distractions, the snowshoe will take approximately 3-4 hours covering approximately 12km. This should be a moderate snowshoe
