Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the coordinates given, although all of the information you will need to find it used to be found at them. The final cache is within walking distance, although you should note the terrain rating carefully.

The notice board at the coordinates has been changed so the cache is no longer solvable on site. An image of the information required has been uploaded at the foot of the cache description and a large version is linked to below.

Large version of information required can be found here (3.7MB file)

Clicking on the links will open an external website in a new window and display an image file. You don't need to download the file. You can download it if you chose to. If you do then...

Alert: You are about to download a file that contains further details needed to find this geocache. As the cache owner, I represent that this file is safe to download although it has not been checked by Groundspeak or by the reviewer for possible malicious content. Download this file at your own risk.

The final container can be found at N 52 2A.B0C E 001 3D.EFG

  • Bungay Road + Puddingmoor
  • Ashman's Road
  • South Road
  • Alexandra Road
  • The Greenway
  • Stuart Drive
  • Grove Road

The cache:
The final cache is a walk of less than 1 km from the stated coordinates. Please note the terrain rating of the cache. This is not the terrain rating of the given coordinates (which would be 1). You will need to be prepared for "varied terrain - too difficult to ride a bike due to elevation changes or significant overgrowth." In wet conditions mud may be an additional hazard.

There are a number of ways to approach the final cache. I would suggest doing so from the east - there is a useful trailhead at:

N 52 2A.E(G+2)B E 001 3D.(C+3)(F+2)(G+2)

This would probably be the best approach for most people and will ensure you approach using public paths. The cache is not on private land, although it is very close to land which is. Use your common sense and it should be obvious where it is - there are hints in the certitude checker which will help as well.

Note that if approached from an alternative direction the terrain rating would be more like 4 to 4.5. This is not recommended and you should make sure that you don't do anything risky - in some weather conditions it might be better to leave the cache if it cannot be approached safely.

Parking:
Free parking is available close to the stated coordinates. In the main this is for an hour. If you're efficient at solving the puzzle and finding the cache this will probably be long enough, although if in any doubt there are plenty of other parking spots in Beccles. Two are shown in the waypoints. The one-way system in the town is tricky, so good luck with that!
