Summit Travel Lodge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ullii: Sadly, I have to archive this cache. A bunch of new No Trespassing signs have gone up recently, after the county did some tree maintenance in the area. Thanks to the jerks to trashed the place with beer bottles and worse, which is probably the reason for the signs. I retrieved the travelers and I hope to find a new home for the lodge soon.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Summit Travel Lodge! We provide comfortable accommodations for travel bugs and geocoins of all shapes and sizes. On your way over the hill? Stop by and stay a while, weary travelers!

The Summit Travel Lodge is conveniently located at the Highway 17 Summit Road off-ramp, with easy access from both the northbound and southbound directions. There's a large turnout with parking for 2 or 3 cars (see the parking waypoint). From there, it's a short ~5 minute walk through the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains redwood forest to the lodge. Look for the geotrail heading away from the parking area and stay on it until you're within 30 - 40 feet of the lodge. Note that you may see two geotrails; one on each side of a drainage. You want the one on the left!

The travel lodge is accessible 24 hours a day, but it gets pretty dark out here, so the management highly recommends having your bugs tucked in before nightfall. Happy hunting!

Congrats to WERDAVE on the FTF!
