Fawn – the young offspring of deer. When first born, the fawn has very little odor to attract predators and will lay concealed for hours while the doe feeds. Upon her return, the fawn will come out to meet the doe and nurse. Until the fawn has the strength to follow the doe, it will continue to hide while the doe is away.
