Like some geocachers, Albert the Geohound has retired. While we don't really approve of greyhound racing, we wanted to create a geocache that remembered his working life now that his life consists of eating, sleeping, walking, getting cuddles, sniffing and those other things that dogs love to do. Hard to believe that the big softie currently sleeping in the corner of the living room was once quite the athlete.
This is a puzzle for you that will be easier if you base your research on greyhound racing and Albert's career. Did you know for example, that unlike horse racing, there is almost always a set number of runners in each race? And with no jockey, they get the hounds to chase a mechanical "rabbit" to encourage them to race. Many of the hounds bred for racing lack the competitive spirit required to be successful and these are lots of the greyhounds you see as pets, as well as well deserving retirees like Albert who have finished up their careers. Perhaps you've seen him out geocaching - look for a red fawn greyhound - you can log him too if you ever see him by asking him for his trackable number.
You'll need to take a couple of steps to get the correct coordinates for the hide. A good place to start is a summary of Albert's racing career. This first set of numbers won't look like coordinates but will give you a good base to get started. His racing name was Carat's Prince, he made 85 starts which included 10 wins, 17 seconds, and 12 thirds, collecting $32,056.50 in prize money. More information about his racing career is available if you know where to look.
