Geocache Description:

Small peanut butter jar along a nice grassy trail near Panther Camp at Lake Park.

We love to ride at Lake Park! Come hike, jog, bike, play :)

Lake Park, owned by the City of St. Pete and leased by Hillsborough County, was closed for months due to a sink hole (part of the park is still fenced off). Officials of Hillsborough County and St. Pete squabbled over fixing the sink hole and leasing conditions.

A lot of people are not aware that the park finally reopend on October 6, 2016. So, we placed a cache to celebrate with other geocachers that we can enjoy this great park again :)

Your miles may vary according to the trail you choose. Main entrance is on Dale Mabry but the back entrance on Whirley Rd is closer to the cache and there is always a dry trail to the cache from there. Park is open sunrise to sunset. $2 entrance fee per car.

To start off, the swag consists of some small Christmas ornaments. Please trade :)
