On the Ambury Foreshore Walk you can see many of the migratory New Zealand wading birds that call here home. The local bird population varies by season with some having travelled a mere 1,000km from the South Island with others having travelled over 15,000km from as far afield as Siberia.
Birds you can see here include Oystercatchers, Wrybills, Godwits, knots, dotterels and stilts.
You can also plenty of other birdlife here including pukeko and introduced species.
So as well as geocachers, cyclists and walkers why not see if you can spot the odd "twitcher"?
The cache is a bison tube - if you find the great migrators you're not far away. No room for swag or trackables, and please bring your own pen.
