For CITO week 2017 (April 22 to April 30) let's get together and help out the Friends of Oakley Creek. We will be helping to protect, enhance and restore the natural environment around the creek - our task for the day will be to clear vines from around the native plants in the area. They are very pleased to have us come along and help them out so let's roll up our sleeves and show what our geo-community is made of!
The event will take place between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Sunday April 30th, rain or shine, so if the weather looks dodgy, come prepared. Please be early and meet up at the entrance to Harbutt Reserve at the end of Harbutt Ave - S 36° 53.285 E 174° 42.355.
It has been suggested to come wearing sturdy footwear and preferably long sleeves and long pants. Bring a hat if it's sunny, and water and snacks - some water and biscuits will be provided. Bring garden gloves if you have them. Any tools needed will be provided, but this will be mainly hand work.
Please post a Will Attend log if you a re planning to come so we know how many to expect.
Further details will be posted as soon as they are confirmed, but mark the date in your diaries! And please log a will attend so that we know how many will come along to help, and also so that you get any announcements sent to your email inbox.
By attending this event and helping out, you will earn the 2017 CITO Week Souvenir for your profile!
