Geocache Description:

Thursday Mar 24, 2016

The Waiho (Waiau) River started changing course soon after dark during heavy rain, and eventually punched through the stopbank about 700m north of the main township.  The glacier-fed river is now running straight through the hotel site, alongside State Highway 6.

 

Nice easy cache to do on the way in or out of Franz Josef or a 5 - 10- minuite walk from the town centre .

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE SITE AS IT IS PRIVATE PROPERTY AND POTENTIALY DANGEROUS
