This cache is part of the Virginia State Parks Get L.O.S.T. (Listen, Observe, Sense, Try) geocaching adventure. Each state park has a cache for this series, each with a unique collector’s card. There are small prizes for finding 5, 10, 20, and ALL of the caches. Most parks require a small parking fee while geocaching. This cache is a medium sized, clear lock-n-lock style container with a log book, pencil and collector’s card.
Park in the campground overflow parking and head toward the east end of the campground. Take the Campground Spur Trail to Mud Creek Trail, which connects to White Oak Swamp. White Oak Swamp will take you past several wetland areas into upland forest filled with iimpressive oak trees and remarkable tuplip poplars. Round trip, this hike is 1.4 miles over easy graveled paths.
