Geocache Description:

This park is where they hold the annual summer Hopewell Ceilidh (usually the second Sunday of August)!

The first Hopewell Ceilidh was held in 1991 at the nearby First Presbyterian Church to commemorate the reconstruction of the Hopewell Footbridge (about 400m to the south of here, see GC3RE9D).  The Ceilidh has been held at this park ever since the bridge was completed in 1992, with a trail and a second smaller bridge constructed to link the park and bridge.

There is a baseball diamond, but from what we have been told, it is not regularly used or maintained.

The cache container is a grey duct-tape wrapped peanut butter jar. Coordinates were averaged using an Oregon 550, but it was snowing a bit and the coordinates seemed jumpy.

Update Sept. 2025: The original location is gone, so it has been moved a few metres closer to the park. The original coordinates still look OK, but feel free to add better coordinates if you have them. Updated hint as well. This iteration won't be winter friendly.
