Geocache Description:

You will need to make your way to Sanctuary Island in Narrabeen Lake for this cache.

This cache is very close to the Zargfinders' “Gilligan’s Island”, archived on 20 August 2016

We were an early finder of the Gilligan’s Island Cache in 2013 and when we saw it was archived we decided it was high time we put out a cache of our own. While we don't imagine we can reach the lofty heights of a Zargfinders cache, we have given it a crack.

The Geographical Names Board of NSW named Sanctuary Island on 28 November 1986, it was previously knows as Wimbledon Is. It has been called as Gilligans Island by many and in summer lots of muggles paddle over to explore.

The Cache is in the middle of Narrabeen Lake so you will need have a boat, kayak or board to make it over dry. We paddle over from Jamieson Park.

While the cache is close to the waters edge, footwear is an absolute must on the island.

The cache has been moved about 50m in April 2019 due to being muggled twice. Fingers crossed it has more luck in its new spot.
