Geocache Description:

This cache is located just outside the Arklow Rugby Club. I started playing rugby in 2014 and this cache is intended to pay homage to the great game I discovered and the great bunch of friends I made on and off the field!

Anyone who knows rugby knows it has a bit of a different scoring system. For those who don't:
- A penalty kick is worth 3 points
- A try is worth 5 points
- A conversion is worth an extra 2 points following a try

The final score of a rugby game can be achieved by many different combinations of these numbers. For example a final score of 21 could be the result of 3 tries and 3 conversions, or 7 kicks. For this cache, you must use this knowledge to work out three similar puzzles involving score combinations. The result will be a six digit number which you must use to open the cache container. (Don't worry if you're not a rugby fan or a genius mathematician, each of these can be worked out quickly with a pencil and paper!)

Puzzle 1:

What is the highest possible score that can be made with only one possible combination of penalties, tries and conversions?
(In other words, if a team scores this amount you know exactly the breakdown of what was scoredand if they score any higher, you don't.)

Puzzle 2:

What is the highest rugby score that can be made in at most two combinations of penalties, tries and conversions?

Puzzle 3:

What is the highest rugby score that can be made in at most three combinations of penalties, tries and conversions?

To open the cache:

You should now have a six digit number. Take the fourth, sixth and second digits in that order and use them to open the cache.

Good luck and please remember to lock the box properly once you're done!
