This heritage-listed gold mine was operated by the Beaufort Deep Lead Company between 1908 and 1916.
The site is on the junction of two major deep leads: The Beaufort Lead (also known as the Fiery Creek Lead), which follows the Yam Holes Creek from Beaufort, and the Waterloo Lead, which runs along the Trawalla Creek from Waterloo.
