Geocache Description:


Koujinjya shrine is located in the central part of Hekinan City. The shrine is familiar as Okojin-san. In the precincts of a shrine, Ohama public hall and Ohama Kamiku resident hall are also located.

This cache is hidden near the shrine.

親しみを込めて「おこじんさん」と大浜では呼ぶ。建武2年（1335）1月に伊勢の国・新兵衛が常行院に八面荒神と銘刀を奉納した事に始まるが…。境内は大浜公民館と大浜上区民館に隣接している。伊勢の国の浪人・新兵衛が建武2年（1335）1月に八面荒神と銘刀を常行院に奉納した事が起源と伝える「荒神社」。しかし、常行院は大永6年（1526）の創建である。謎は残る。だが、親兵衛が常行院の縁者であったことは確かだ。長らく常行院の一鎮守であったが、明治6年（1873）に常行院の境内一部を分けて、荒神社とした。荒神社の傍らにある「陣屋稲荷大明神」は跡形もなくなった大浜陣屋敷地内にあったとされるお稲荷さんもある。2016年9月、付近の道路が拡幅されたので碧南市中町、荒神社三社（荒神社、秋葉社、陣屋稲荷社の社殿が140年ぶりに再建されました。
