This is a series of caches placed on a circular walk starting and ending in Thorpe Le Soken. I spent my childhood on the footpaths and in the fields where these caches are placed. My parents have recently moved away from Thorpe after 40 years so I have placed these caches as an excuse to take me back home!
There are other excellent caches from other owners along the way. I would allow about 2 hours for the circuit. The fields can get very muddy in winter and there is a number of obstacles that may prove difficult if you are planning on taking a pushchair.
I hope this walk brings you as much pleasure as I got from my stroll down memory lane.
From this cache, if you have your back to the road, on your left will be a lake that is now owned by the nearby spa. When I was a young 'un, the lake was part of the Thorpe Hall estate and then, as now, fishing in it was prohibited. Did that stop us? I'll let you draw your own conclusions!
