Slavnostní otevření parku Balabenka proběhlo 01. 09. 2016. Park Balabenka byl 5.10.217 oceněn třetím místem v soutěži Park roku 2017.
Náměstí na pražské Balabence se změnilo v park se dvěma dětskými hřišti. Radnice tam nově zakázala vjezd aut, což se nelíbí mistnim obyvatelům.
